Bald Eagle

I saw a bald eagle floating above the Veteran's Memorial and Sugar Creek in Bella Vista! They usually hang out in Illinois watershed or Beaver Lake, I feel really lucky!

Yes, they are something to see. I saw one close in a tree a few years ago, but mostly they are pretty far away. They are big when you see them close. Three small hawks were calling and flying around here last week. I think they must be breeding. They were chasing each other and making lots of noise.

We had one a few years ago that perched in a tree by a pond for hours and hours. It was very exciting to see.

We've never been to Eagle Days. I wonder if there are very many around the Nature Center.
I've only seen ONE in the 20+ years we've lived here. It flew right over our house. We got pretty excited about it. : )
