Crocus in bloom

I looked thru my flowerbeds yesterday and i found my crocus
blooming.Winter is not going to last forever. YEA!!!!! :)
I also got a new catalog yesterday(Roots & Rhisomes). I've looked thru it 3x and can't wait to go thru it again.I'm going to order something from it if i can decide what. There are times when it would be nice to be Bill Gates and say i will buy everything in your catalog. than what in the world would i do with it all. LOL
All the plants i got from Jays trades last fall seem to be doing well The daylilly is still green. The rose look like its sleeping not dead.
May all your crocus be blooming.

Haven't seen any crocus yet, but I've got daffs poking their heads out of the ground...Told hubby and the dog to stop tromping over there....Hope they listen to me!

    Mornin Oakleif!

Yup,my crocus are blooming too.Jonquils have been up for a while and I noticed Sat.the hyacinths are poking thru.

Now I'm getting ready extra early for the veggie garden. Hubby disced and smoothed it Sat. I purposely didn't rake all the yard this passed fall so I could use the leaves and pineneedles to cover the black plastic I plan on using on part of the veggie garden to cut the weeding/tilling chores down.Well, that's IS my excuse for not raking and I'm sticking to it....LOL

    Is it Spring Yet?

I've seen some little green things poking up too, probably daffodils, but it's just a tease. There won't be any blooms for a long time. Do you have buds on yours already Peggy? What is your last frost date there? You might need to post a photo of your spring flowers later to get me through the last couple weeks of winter. I don't think I'm gonna make it. ack ack
I planted crocus in fall of 2003 but nothing came up the next spring unless there was leaves without flowers and I just couldn't see them. Maybe there will be some this year.
Fourseasons - My kids love to walk around in my shade garden, even in the winter when there's no shade. They go around the trees like maypoles. They're careful not to step on plants but it's hard to see them when they're first coming up. Some of my hostas come up looking a little crumpled.

I have had a few white crocus blooming. The hyacinths are poking through just waiting to come on up. I am ready for spring to get here.

    Christie,
only the crocus have bloomed. No buds on daffs/jonquils,hyacinths are just now breaking ground so it'll be a while before I see color.

Yards in an upheavel as hubby builds on to enclose the front proch/patio for a room for ME! I keep getting run out of every room in the house so I'll move my tv,computer, sewwing machine and exercise equipment into the new room. I'm making dolls and crafts for fairs and festivals this year and there's craft crap in almost every room of the house. Spare bedroom is the supply closet, kitchen is the cutting area, living room is the sewwing area and laundry room is pressing station w/ even more supplies on the washer and drier and in the shelves.Gotta corral this mess and confine it to one room so it dosen't look like a dump when people come over.

Shelves above and behind tv are the display shelves for completed items.

As soon as the room is finished or at least the outside is done,I'm re-doing the beds that go in front of the new room and down the one side of the house.

Whoops,I seem to have taken off on a rant there....LOL
