ozarkhelen, from what i've been told zoysia grass spreads like bermuda grass, and if thats the kind you want, i'm sure my blasted bermuda grass will make it into texas county, as we're less than five miles away.i've been told of, and purchased, a spray to kill it, but reading it dosent sound promising. i'm sure zoysia will make a beautiful lawn, but, will it alse creep into your flower beds and gardens, and once there, take over, and refuse to leave?
HI.. My husband planted about 50 plugs of zoysia about ten years ago. It started very slow to spreading and then I have noticed it spreading faster last year and this year. The grass turns brown in the winter, and turns back to very green again in March or April for our home zone 7. It covers weeds, and feel so good to walk on it! It like thick carpenter! Also it needs much less mowing! It grows only about one inches tall. I thought it is so neat.. Of course my yard looks funny in brown and other side has not zoysia grass.
