I saw a couple the other day at the bird feeders in the snow. I thought they were lost!

We saw one yesterday; the first! We just had one or two last year.

Hi LindaG! I hope that means that spring is coming soon. I haven't seen any yet. They must still be hiding in the woods or something. This has been a cold February. Most years we have a few days in the sixties or seventies scattered through winter but it just hasn't happened this year. I don't see any in the forecast either.

They could have been here all winter too and I just haven't noticed them

I saw a 1/2 dozen along the county road a couple miles from here a week ago today and then this morn there were 7 in my front yard. What was funny was that I always have 15-17 cardinals that flock to the feeders every morning and fly back and forth between them and the trees. They seldom light on the ground except to hop down to the waterer which is on the ground. This morn along with the robins out in the lawn, there were 5 cardinals hopping over the grass in imitation of the robins. It was as if they were trying to figure out what the robins had found out there to eat.
