Milky SPORE, not sore! Dang typos.

I'm thinking that even if the rain washed the milky spore away, that the yard being saturated has probably made it inhospitable to grubs too...

I'm trying to remember the grub life cycle but I don't think the adults have laid their eggs yet? Isn't it the soon-to-be-laid eggs that hatch and feed on our roots this summer and fall? It wouldn't break my heart to have all the little things drown!

There is no way to know for certain is the answer unless you have access to a lab that can ID the bacteria for you in a sample. Milky Spore can live in soil for an awfully long time, years and years, but anything in soil can leach out to some degree if conditions are right. My best guess, and I do mean guess, would be that MS population was diminished but not decimated.

Decklap - that makes sense. I guess it's a good thing that I applied enough to cover 20,000 sq ft on my 15,000 sq ft of lawn and garden beds.

Another inch of rain today with more on the way plus we're in a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, Flood Warning and Flash Flood Warning.

I would think most of it is probably washed away. Keep in mind the whole purpose is for the spores to colonate the area. The little bit left behind will likely do so but just take a lot longer for it to become effective. Probably not a bad idea to reapply after things dry out again. Look at the bright side of it though. The milky spores are wide spread now!! I think it takes a couple years for it to really be effective so time wise no great loss. But I do understand the monetary loss and these days we need to save as much as we can.

I think the 2 packages I bought cost around $150(?) so I don't think I'll be re-applying anytime soon or the wife will be kicking my butt.
