Dang, I thought I posted a reply here yesterday!

We have been getting small rains....got a little over 1 inch a few days ago and got a shower in the wee hours of this morning. Still dark out so I haven't checked yet. My ground was in good shape yesterday with puddles here and there.

Every time we don't get a predicted rain, I get nervous. We have had three years of drought, hay production way down, grazing cut short, etc. We sure don't want another one of those years.

Yep, I too am pretty peeved at last week's forecast of a week of rain. All we have got so far was 1/2 inch a few days ago. Now they are saying showers all week .... again! We'll see.
Anyway, our yard is full of blooms...to numerous to list. The yard and woods look like a light snow with all the serviceberry petals falling! I think there are more flowers on the trees and shrubs this spring. I keep running around taking pictures.

But...the drawback is my allergies! I have been having a doozie of sinus pain. Now it's the sneezing and runny nose.
I took a trek down below the bluff to our pouroff a couple of days ago.The water was still running over the falls. I wrenched a muscle in my side. Wow! does it hurt!

We just came back last night from a trip to Indianapolis..and the rain was falling in East central MO Tuesday and yesterday until there were times we couldn't see the road! I was jealous of all you people up there. Got home to ground that hasn't seen moisture since the last snow and had to turn on the well and irrigation system. Kaye, south of Ft. Smith

Friday evening we got a really good 2 inch rain. I thought it looked like Lebanon was getting the same thing. I guess I can't interpret those weather maps very well.

Marian, if you took pics of the waterfall, I sure would like to see it and the serviceberry trees. I have probably waited too long to see if we have any. My allergies have been really bad too, coughing a lot.

Gld, I didn't have a camera with me on this trek, and I am too stove-up to do that again....but here is a pic I took some years ago after a heavy rain:

These were taken at the end of last week. Today the petals are almost all gone, and the trees are turning green! It is a shame that the blooms are so short lived, but I love the the trees year around.

The wild plums have taken their place in the blooming department. Our woods are full of them too, and some in, (or beside), our yard. Besides that,redbuds, forsythia, flowering quince, flowering almonds( both pink and white), clove currants, two kinds of white spirea, and the earliest Viburnum (Burkwoodi), are in bloom. Early daffodils have wilted, but the later ones are in fill bloom, along with anenome blandas, grape hyacinths, Hyacinths, violas, creeping phlox,a red tulip that escaped the rabbits(!), and wild flowers....espacially bluets.

Such a beautiful time of the year...why do I have to be soooo sick!?
The temps is ideal...70s for highs, and 50s for lows.

Nice photos Marian - Not many people can say they have their own waterfall. Hope you start feeling better soon and you too Gld. My allergies aren't as bad this year, maybe because of the trees losing so many limbs.

It's not dry at all here but I know how you feel. Spring started out that way for us last year. The ponds were dry even in April. Now I'm seeing some ponds that are full that hadn't been that way for two or three years. Hope you get rain too. I think it's instinctive to worry when there's not enough rain even for people who don't farm or garden.

I keep meaning to cruise the farm for spring bloomers, but once I get the gardening chores done, don't have the energy for it.

well, it wasn't a " rainy night in georgia" but we did have some rain between 3 and 7. looking for more tomorrow.
