You should be able to get some really good closeups of insects with your new camera if you use the macro lens. Mine works best if I just switch it to macro and then hold the camera very close (about an inch away) instead of zooming. Yours may be different though. I get blurry shots if I try to zoom on macro.

I still have to try about a half dozen times before I can log in...sometimes I just give up. I think I just solved the problem by changing the filters... We shall see.

Helen, what kind of camera did you get?

I can do the regular close-up on Macro with the Canon, but with the Panasonic, I use the zoom with macro. I depress the button about half way for it to focus, if it is still fuzzy, I just back up until it isn't. That feature is very good for my poor ancient body...no stooping required!

Christie, is right that all cameras are a little different.
Have you posted any pics with the new one?
