"Third quarter planting, or from the full moon to half-full:
Plant biennials, perennials, bulb and root crops. Crops which are planted one season then produce yields the following year, trees, and shrubs. Examples: Onions, potatoes, rhubarb, grapes, winter wheat, and berries."

One quick and easy trial for anyone who wants to check it out:
Plant Radishes in the right sign-then another patch in the wrong sign,--it proved it to me.
I really dont think its a mystery, if the moon can control the ocean tides, why not planting cycles too?

I think the charts I've seen for planting by the moon phases are for seeds, not plants so I've wondered about that too.

The chart I have is from the Old Farmer's Almanac where you put in your zip code. For Springfield, I'm supposed to plant potatoes between April 10th - 23rd, but if I lived in Branson, which isn't that far away, it would be February 10th - 23rd. What happen to March? I wonder if there's a reason why it skips over it like that. I put in different zip codes and couldn't find any cities that are supposed to plant potatoes in March.
