I still haven't seen any. Ceresone - You have the most of anyone I know around the Ozarks. I need to figure out what you do to attract them. What is growing around there that they like? How many years have you been putting up feeders? I've been putting up feeders for a long time and I plant stuff, but my numbers don't even come close to yours.

None here yet either. I have two feeders up. One is almost empty but we have never seen anything at it? It is not dripping out either. Very curious.

Mine emptied itself blowing in the wind. It isn't leaking but when it is really windy, it tips to the side enough to empty.

Right now, all I have blooming is the normal--Redbuds, Wisteria etc. The Red Honeysuckle is about to bloom, be awhile untill the flowers all bloom.
I'll have 10 feeders up, after they all arrive, but I think a big attraction is the Pines and Cedars that they nest in.I'll have more flowers, etc on the decks this year, due to my scaling back the garden for awhile.

Was just discussing this with my mother in Seymour area (I'm near Clever). She finally saw ONE hummer on April 13th. But, it seems like they are later this year. Is that so, or just our imagination?

Christie, I forgot to tell you--I've put up feeders for 30+ years.

I've been putting up feeders for several years, not sure how long. We've lived here 20 years.

I hope it's the red honeysuckle that attracts so many at your place Ceresone, because I have that now. I have the species sempervirens, one called Alabama Crimson and Dropmore Scarlet (which is a cross). Only the Dropmore Scarlet was big enough to have a lot of blooms last summer.

I only have one pine tree, a shortleaf pine and it's pretty small. I don't have any cedars but they're everywhere around here. They wouldn't have to go far to find those.

More than half of my Black and Blues are coming up now. : ) No sign of my species guaranitica though. I hope it's not dead. I rooted several cuttings of the species and kept them in my garage over winter but it looks like only a couple made it. Salvia darcyi is coming up in a few spots. My little start of monarda 'Raspberry Wine' has come back and is going to be much bigger this year. Jacob Cline has come back as well.

Mel mo - Maybe you're like me and just get more impatient every year. lol With all the trees blooming, it seems like there should be some hummingbirds.

No, I will have that many up when they all get here.Right now, I only have 2 in the spots they expect to find them. It's my understanding that the scouts come first, then the others trail in.
I have the Dropmore Scarlet honeysuckle too--but Hummers or not, I'm trying to kill out the Jacob Cline monarda, wish I had know it was a mint relative when I put it in the bed with my Echinacea.
