Congrats on the haul. Wish my space was even close to ready for planting. Why one earth we chose to purchase a brand new, unlandscaped, home last fall I will never know.

wow, I'll bet you can hardly sleep. I would be so excited I would not sleep. I love all flowers. No mater if "everyone" else does or not. I too have the thought, why??
When I got really sick I move from the farm to town. wow talk about no plant. Every year I try to add more or spread out what I have to make it appear I have more. lol. I think I miss the things like iris, lilac yo know all the type of things most homes have that have been there forever. It does seem to take a long time to make your lawn look as if you have been there awhile. good luck. Yes I am ready to start planting but will wait on the tender things another 2 weeks. all that I have planted will be fine w/mulch.

Oooh I betcha had a lot of fun on that trip. Now you just need some warm weather to get them in the ground.
If that's the one that's a fund raiser for the Memphis Botanical Garden, I've wished I could go to it myself. We've been to Memphis a couple times but just in the summer.
Did they have a lot of unusual plants?

That's the one! That was our main destination, but we hit some other nurseries having spring sales afterward. It was a blast! Nothing particularly unusual that I saw, but then again I'm still what's likely classified as a beginner with flowers and shrubs, and still learning a lot of the plants outside the realm of very common. I'm not really into roses, but one of my friends who went is, and she commented on the rare varieties. Picked up a couple of eggplant varieties I haven't tried, and went hog wild with the herbs. They were SOO much more fragrant than what you find at Lowes or Walmart.

They had lots of hostas I hadn't seen before, and every variety of azelea (sp?) that you can imagine! Some folks around here grow those successfully, however, I'm not one of them. :)

I did not get the hydrangeas I was after...I had read about the Endless Summer blue hydrangea, and I found them at the Dabney Nursery very reasonably priced. However, I discovered aphids on them! Ugh! Not so reasonable.

So today I mulched and covered plants for the cold tonight...I think I'm prepared. Meanwhile my new plants are snug in the garage, waiting as impatiently as me for it to warm up again!

We also went to the bonsai nursery...THAT was awesome. I've got a few books and seem to be able to keep the ficus I have alive, but I'm not yet brave enough to expand my horizons. :)

Sounds like a great trip. I always want one of everything I see!

I have Endless Summer; so far, it has been less than spectacular. It is all budded out now so maybe this year will be different. Now I am after Limelight.

They had Limelight, but it seemed kind of expensive. I'm not sure how much it usually is though. Plus, I had blue on the brain. :)

I hope your Endless Summer does better this year!
