Before you give anyone some forsythia I think you should make them sign an agreement that they will never prune the shrubs in to any decorative form. :)

Why would anyone give away forsythia?

To me, it is an over-hyped, unruly, giant weed! I have had some many battle with that "weed" just popping up and growing everywhere, but the place we wanted it to grow. So, we tore them out. Took a long time to finally get the last one, but we got it.

I would steer clear of planting this weed anywhere in your yard.

Sure...I have a spot that can always use a bit of yellow... I'm in Kennett Township.
