Wouldn't an unusual Caladenia be one that looks like a more or less normal plant? Seriously,though, that is a great, sci-fi looking orchid.

Great looking weirdo. I have a tuber of Caladenia Harlequin X flava, which I got from a Dr Heinrich Beyrle. He lists 4 Caladenias on his site. http://www.myorchids.de/main1.htm The one you pictured is not amongst them.

Bizarre that I have to import Au plants from Bavaria, Germany while unable to do so from Australia.

Some wonderful plants on the list. I question the value of Cites. Habitat destruction is far worse than illegal collecting.

By habitat destruction, add in invasion by weeds, soil changes from urban runoff and so on.

I've written before how one very large Australian nursery gave up exporting due to the paperwork etc.
