Is it lacking in plants? It says on their website "there are "many native gardens"

I would say very lacking in plants.Most stuff is native like that vine that is like velcro. It was everywhere. They had some rose bushes but they were all dead. A good going through and cleaning dead things out would really help.

No wonder you were disappointed. It does look like it has a lot of potential. Maybe it just needs some volunteer groups to get together and plant some stuff.

Here's what I think I remember hearing about it:

It was opened as a fledgling botanical gardens a few years ago, but the owners got divorced and put it up for sale, I think.

If I remember right, the bank or the city (or both?) took it over and are trying to make something of it-- but probably not a botanical gardens per se.

The spring itself had been a Eureka secret swimming hole for decades (not anymore). It's a beautiful spot.
