What is faux about that? That will make it look neat; mine is a circle of chicken wire kind of lopsided. Your stuff is always neat looking.

Mine is just a few piles in the garden....not nearly as good looking as yours! Nothing faux about it.

the front of the bin has 3 doors.

i have 3 leaf bins out of wire. they are so compacted you can't tilt them over for cleaning.
here is a pic of young tomatoes about 2 wks ago.

the bin is 8 ft long by 3 ft high by 4 ft wide. grass clippings seem to mat and not break down easily.

i bet ruth stout did not have bermuda grass or kudzu!

William, She did have--or a variation. I cant remember--was it nut grass? anyway, her solution was to dig a trench on that side of her garden, and mulch heavy.
However BERMUDA GRASS (it deserves capitals), will go over, under or through concrete-if it cant, it will throw seeds over!
So, if you collect your clipping, which WILL have seeds, compost, or not? Supposedly, if your pile is hot enough, they wouldnt be viable.
Myself, I think in the hottest place in my imagination, this grass would thrive. The Devil must have his floor carpeted with it. And then, I read, on another forum, they now have GIANT BERMUDA GRASS!!
Compost bins look good, BTW. I wont make such a big pile as last year, got too big to turn.

Bin looks well constructed as does your SFG.

They'll break down if you can get ahold of dry leaves, clippings, other plant matter (carbons) to mix in to with the high nitrogen grass clippings. I use grass clippings as mulch and sprinkle a light layer anytime I have some. It breaks down fast enough that I have to keep adding or weeds will take hold.
