You should still be able to use your camera without the door if it's an SD card. The card should lock in place when you push it in with a (click-click). Push it in again to remove (click, click). When I got my first digital I would finish pushing the card in with the door. I didn't know the card locked in place.

I hope you can still use your camera. I agree with taz; it should still work unless the door is what makes contact with the batteries (DH 's Canon) then it won't. Maybe tape would hold it tight enough?
