Sun , Shade ? Tell us about the location.

I can assume that it is sun, if you are growing roses.

Weigelia WIne and Roses is about that size , has redish green leaves and has pink flowers. But needs full sun.
There are several spireas that may work, again, in full sun.

You mention hydrangaes - If you have full sun, some of the hydrangaes may not do as well. Macrophyllas like a little pm shade. ( pink or blue round flowers)

Hydrangae Little Lime is better for full sun and has nice white flowers later in the summer.

Boxwood make a nice hedge, but have no flowers.

Since posting this, I took a stab and planted deutzia, salvia, and Annabelle hydrangeas in the front curving area. I did plant roses across the path, Iceberg for large white shows of blooms which are a little less fussy in my experience, we get about 5-6 hours of afternoon sun in the summer, but it seems we get almost as many rainy days as sunny, so we'll see how things do. I also planted lavender among the Iceberg, interested to see how it does as I've read both that it does well in this area AND that it doesn't...so may be replacing that with salvia next year.

We also have a huge older variety of viburnum in the front that is not my favorite, too stinky (and not in a good way), but I have come across some other varieties that I love. And what I believe is a huge Chinese lilac.

I'm having fun identifying some of the 'areas of sticks' that I looked at in the winter when we bought the house.

Try Siberean Lilac, probably Misspelled. Hydrangeas, Weigellia,Macrophyllas. I have looked at the above posts over and over, and over. Maybe even try some Rhodedendrons, they prefer at least 6 hours of sun. Hydrangeas love some sun and some shade. Azaleas like some sun and then shade in the afternoon. There is also Pieris Japonica. I do hope that Portia can make the choice from these posts. Basically, make another post, if you have anything good or bad to report. And if you need help.
