Mary, be careful! That's where we started! One rose..

I had few roses before running into the Kettreys. I did not spray and the roses always were lacking something. After Kaye got me to spray them and always sends me home with some, they have never looked better. I find that I get done doing one thing in my garden and look for something else to keep me there so I spray the roses now.

Your rose is beautiful. Cant hardly wait for this fall to get to Ron and Kaye's to see what else they have been up to. Want to learn how to root those roses. My husband was really interested when we were there this spring. Good luck with the bush. Judy

Hey, guys, just wanted to let you know the roses keep a bit of bloom on them ALL the time. I can't believe how much I'm enjoying these little cheapies from Wal-Mart. Just imagine how they will do once they build a good root system.

Beautiful! I have 3 Betty Priors and they are so pretty. I love the airy shape of the bush and the wide open blooms.

I just started tuning in to this forum and was wondering who Kaye and Ron are? I'm getting interested in roses and would like to learn a few things about caring for them in this region. Are they part of a garden tour or something where you can visit their garden or are they just personal friends. Or do they have a buisness?

Misstwiggley, they are friends, have no business, and would probably love to have you visit their garden. I think we are planning on having another plant swap at their house in late Sept. or early Oct. Kaye will fill you in on any questions you have about caring for roses just ask her. How far into MO are you? They are about 30 miles south of Fort Smith, AR.

They are new friends whom I met through this forum. Lovely people with beautiful gardens. As beerhog said, they are apparently planning a second plant swap in the early fall. Do try to attend, if at all possible. I met some great people at their first plant swap and got to tour their lovely rose gardens. It's a visit you don't want to miss.

Regarding the roses being grown in this area of the country. I started with a very easy to grow rose but I think I've enjoyed these two plants as much as any in my new garden. They are performing way beyond what I expected of them. So far, I've been good to spray so maybe I will try a few more next year, if we plan to be at home during the summer.
