That is kind of sad in a way that she wants to mother something. I have heard of dogs nursing other animals but usually it is a mother with other pups of her own. I once had a cat who slept in the puppy basket with the pups but I think that was because they were warm. That cat would lick them and if they wiggled around it would grab them and kick them like cats do. It was kind of puppy abuse.

Honey would have eaten it no playing around. He plays with mice and ignores moles after he digs them up. Rabbits are goners.

There are actually two babies. They are about the size of a computer mouse. The one on the bottom of the hole moved his/her foot so it wasn't smothered after all. I don't know how they manage to breathe, all covered up and buried like that. So far, they are both okay and Katy is not a happy camper to be on her leash out there.

If you just let her loose and watch her will she go immediately to the rabbits? She minds pretty well; would no work. Rabbits grow fast soon they will try to run or hide but having her on a leash will be a pain until they grow up a bit.

What a cool story. Katy needs a kitten. I think you should take her to the humane society and let her pick one out.

Oh Christie I wanted to say that but I didn't dare! A little fluffy kitten or a baby yellow striped tommy cat is what she needs.

Nice thought. How in the world do I train Katy to change a litter box?? I'm so tired of doing it. Our old (indoor) black cat, JadeAnn, is 20 this year with no health problems. She raised Katy, and a black Labrador, Susan, raised Jade. Jade was a stray before she was properly weaned.

Katy is 7, and it seems my pets manage to marry me for years and years and years. That's a happy thing, but I can see many more years of litter -- however, I do love kittens and never say never.
