If it helps save you a trip, I was at Atwoods in Shawnee and Home Depot in Midwest City today and neither had them.
For what it's worth, tomatillos are one of the few plants that I ALWAYS have good luck growing some seed. I think I direct sowed them the second week of May last year and had too many healthy plants and too many tomatillos. Or Tomatilloes...not sure how to spell that.
I will probably be at K and K next week and will check there.

The greenhouse at the Shawnee Atwoods is looking pretty ragged. I was in there around noon.
Double R in Tecumseh said they had plants earlier, but were out and didn't think the grower had anymore.
If I can find seed, I may try and direct sow them.
This will not happen next year. I'll be ordering seed to do my own starts. I hate being at the mercy of the big growers and whatever they decide to focus on.

We grew the purple tomatillo last year (we are probably pretty close to you)....I suspect we bought the seeds at atwoods, actually, but can't promise you.

I will definitely be on the look out. I LOVE tomatillos, but sadly there is no room in the garden for them this year. I really need to expand the garden next year!

Sunrise Acres has tomatillos seedlings for sale. They are at the OSU-OKC market on Saturdays. They will take email reservations for plants if you can notify them early enough. They don't always check email on Friday, because they are preparing for market day. Prices are reasonable, $0.90 for vegetable seedlings. I have bought tomatoes, peppers, and tomatillos from them for the last 4-5 years and have always been pleased.
