That is why I restrain myself when I am in Wal-Mart's or Lowes....I have bought things from them for years but quit about two years ago.

Thanks for the info.. I planned to buy Cannas from Wal-Mart or Lowes in the spring. Now I'll have to find a place online to buy them. Does the disease stay in the soil?

Go to the canna forum and do a search. I guess it is a huge problem and some well known British growers had to thrown everything out and start over. You don't know if it is an overblown scare or not. I used to buy hostas compulsively and now I am down to a few. The hosta virus scare was real, so I am not taking any chances with this one.

I think you were wise to get rid of them. I'd hate to be a grower and have to start over like that - sounds expensive.
I haven't bought any hostas from Wal-Mart or Lowe's for several years. I think the ones I have are disease free and I'd like to keep it that way.
