Everything looks very lush and green. You must have been getting rains along. Thanks for sharing. I never even noticed the hose.....had to go back and look. It is just part of my landscape this year!

beerhog, your flowers and yard look very well cared for considering the hot dry weather. Don't know why I thought you lived off in the country somewhere. You said you lived just off 540, but it goes through lots of countryside.

We got 2 inches of rain early this morning. Hail missed us by less than 3 miles...close call. Wind got pretty frisky...we were under a Severe Thunderstorm "Warning" that called for hail at golf ball size. I was up worrying about my cuttings...one got blown off my potting bench..must have done a flip..it landed in the midst of a hollyhock right side up. Dumb hollyhocks some up everywhere and if you don't grub them out early, it is nearly impossible. It is up under a large walnut tree...makes no sense at all, but it grows at about half it's potential and blooms anyway.

Is that Skyrocket....aka Slater's Crimson China? ;O) Glad you posted the picture...now I know what to expect. (Kaye, don't shoot me) Think how boring it could get without mislabeled plants.

Mille, you will have ask Kaye about the rose. If you got cutting from the Fort Smith post office rose then it is 'Skyrocket' , but she also has SCC. I am about 45 miles from 540 on highway 22. It is in Paris. About half way between Fort Smith and Russellville.

Kaye says they both bloomed out the same...if I understood her correctly, so guess there was some mislabeling somewhere. Anyway, it's a good looking rose....but, does it need spraying? Therein lies my problem...I just don't want to waste what energy I have left to do something I don't want to do. ;O(

Millie, I think it is good no spray rose. If it gets blackspot, it is very little.

Wow! You really know how to make a yard look fabulous. I got the feeling of the tropics. Absolutely gorgeous!! Do you plan your gardens, or do they just come to be? I really wished I was as good at organizational planting. Thanks for sharing your gardens Beerhog. Sheila

The red flowers are bees balm and the silver is Artemisia ludoviciana ssp. albula.
