They are a problem for me also. But have to look at it as getting the lawn aerated. they can do major damage. It has been really dry this year so they are worse. You must have lots of bugs and worm. Judy

I have no lawn! Fields that I've mowed down, tilled and turned into quite LARGE gardens! Mostly daylillies and TB Iris. I have mulch everywhere to keep the weeds at bay. This is my 2nd season of these large gardens. They did not bother anything last year, never had damage. Maybe due to drought this year. My vinegar trick I completed on Monday 9-12 kept them out that evening I guess cuz when I checked Tues. morn NO DAMAGE! Yeah we got rain! I checked for damage Wednesday morning 9-14 and they made up for not getting in there Tuesday. My guess is the rain washed the vinegar smell away. Supposed to have rain tonight as well so I'll probably have damage Thurs. morning as well unless the varmits got enough rain wherever they are nesting and they won't venture into my gardens! Here's hoping! Gonna go check the gardens with my flashlight right now before I retire to bed.
