diseased oak leaves

I've got a red oak that's suddenly sporting large blighted dark green areas on the leaves. The affected leaves are curling and dropping. I hope it doesn't have that awful oak plague that's supposedly wiping them out on the East Coast. Anybody know the symptoms?
