Has he been reported for wife beating? Is there a domestic violence service in your county? There's a lot more going on here than dog control. Is the 'police chief land lord' aware of all of this? Keep your distance, keep a journal , take photos, and seek an appropriate agency to file a complaint. Get an update of rules of trespassing. Sometimes the best defense is a strong fence. well,Ep we are in the process of putting up a fence between him and our property next to him but he ignores it,ducking under the barbed wire were we haven't finished putting up the other wire mesh fencing yet....he even had the nerve to complain to my hub's about the inconvenience it causes him when he wants to go over and bother our renter.You've got to understand this guys mindset...his rights and only his rights matter.Our renter would have to file a complaint to keep him from coming over to her place...or we could put a gate up at the entrance but hub's doesn't want to because his tractor attachments are on that property and he doesn't want the hassle of getting on and off the tractor to open a gate but it may come to that w/ "No trespassing" signs posted.

We've report him for DV but they can't do anything unless they see it or see signs of DV on the wife.

Wouldn't you know it...we had two camcorders but sold them 'cause we didn't use them. Guess I'll have to get another one.....or get a neighbor to do it.

I think EP has got exactly the right idea. Document everytime you have one of these episodes. I would do the fence, even if it causes you inconvenience. It would definitely protect your dogs and gks. I am speaking as one who had a small, sweet dog, attacked and killed by a neighbor's Great Dane. To their credit, they did get rid of the dog, but my dog was already dead.

Do you have a digital camera? These are great for quick shots. Just keep it handy by the back door at all times.

I guess we have been lucky with neighbors. We just haven't had the experience with bad ones like you have. What a constant, nagging problem. I sure hope you can get it resolved. It sure doesn't help who his landlord is, does it?

I am surprised that his dogs haven't been quietly (22 short) disposed of while in the act of killing chickens, dogs, or distruction of property. Nothing I hate worse than a chicken killing dog. I learned not to bother with warnings...have never had it work. (People who care about their dogs keep them up, neiter/spay, and get shots.) Don't they call it SSS... shoot, shovel, and shut-up?

I am with Millie , my neighbor across the street had a dog that sneaked across the road and tore up one of my hens . I called him and told him what had happned at that point I had not looked at the hen .
When I got her she was torn from the back of her head down her neck and on both sides of her body .
I picked her up and went running across the street , the jerk was still in the house . I met the dog starting back across the road . I was livid told him I would feed him lead if he came back .
He took the dog back to the pound ( probably why the dog was there to start with ) . I sutured the hen , she recovered .
My weapon of choice is a shot gun .
Have you thought about taking the guy to small claims court ? Gin

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. Being an owner of 4 boston terriers,all like children to me, I understand your pain.
Gin,I have chickens too.Had to buy a donkey to put in the pasture to keep his dogs out of our coops.

After making and absolute pest of myself at the SO. They finally came out to talk to Dogboy and the landlords. No more loud music,speeding down the road out frontof my house,their yard's in process of being cleaned up and only one dog in sight. Big male chow caught a terminal case of lead posioning over the weekend but I want to go on record saying "It Was Not Me!"I don't know who it was,it was relayed back to me thru neighborhood grapevine. Even if I knew I wouldn't rat them out. Rumor has it,there's bounties on the others should they be seen roaming the neighborhood again. Sad ending for his dog to pay the ultimate price for his refusal to comply with neighborhoods request to do something about the dogs but he pushed his neighbors too far.

If any person shall discover any dog or dogs in the act of killing, wounding or chasing sheep in any portion of this state, or shall discover any dog or dogs under such circumstances as to satisfactorily show that such dog or dogs has or have been recently engaged in killing or chasing sheep or OTHER DOMESTIC animal or animals, such person is authorized to immediately pursue and kill such dog or dogs; provided, however, that such dog or dogs shall not be killed in any enclosure belonging to or being in lawful possession of the owner of such dog or dogs.
