My first Passion Flower...Question please?

gardenbug

My passion flower vine is growing well. I noticed that there is rarely more than one flower at a time. When the flowers have finished and feel empty, do I remove those pods? I took one off and it just left the shell. Also, I noticed at the very bottom of my vine, a few of the lower leaves have turned yellow and have fallen off. Does that mean I'm watering it too much or too little. I water it every 2nd day.

My passiflora is planted in the ground, growing up a sturdy trellis and the weather is very warm. I believe it is called 'Blue
Crown' by comparing it with other pics.

Do I do anything with the side shoots?

Thanks for your help.
