Couple of things

My ponytail palm flowered last Summer. Stalk grows right up the center of the plant, and when the flowers finally gave way, I pruned it back to a couple inches of stem. Well, it's still quite hard after all these months, and now, new growth is sprouting off to the side of said remaining stalk. Does this mean that the plant will start branching, or just eventually force out the flowering part?

Also, came across the website of a place called Tejas Tropicals. Anybody have insight on this operation? I may order a particular Sabal from them.
