See link below for full info. The cyanogenic glycosides are essentially in the foliage and rind not the seed themselves as far as I am aware. Re origins all are very widely distributed but are thought to have originated in the Americas. Incarnata in the South of North America and the others in Central or Southern America.

The fruit of all passiflora is toxic until ripe, but once ripe the pulp (arils and seed) is safe and edible. Most passion fruit rind is not edible. As long as you don't eat unripe fruit or start adding the green leaves to your dinner salad, you'll be fine. :-)
