Since you have a red roof, your paint scheme should be compatible with that color. Also add shutters on each side of the picture window to the left. First thing coming to mind is a dark, gray gable with matching gray shutters and a bold, red door. Paint the storm door the same color so it will blend in. Can you afford to build a sheltered entry to your cottage? A small gable over the door is welcoming and provides shelter.

It's a cute cottage with some decent foundation plantings. Remove the two conifer shrubs on the opposite ends of the porch and plant some colorful flowering and scented shrubs (lavender) if possible. Dig out the planting bed into a little more of a curve towards the drive and choose some colorful, draping groundcovers and plants.

I love black shutters & trim. Maybe gray on the triangle and a red or black door with a new door knocker & larger more interesting porch light. New street numbers and mailbox that all coordinate. Can you add shutters to the window on the left. Can you live without the glass door? If so I would remove it.Iron window boxes might look good too. Cute house!
