for those of you who are brave enough to give it a try, here is a 6 minute video I made about how to pollinate a date palm

Great job. Where did you get that knife at? I am always cutting my hands up when I get in there to cut away the Spathe for pollinating.

I got that one at Knife Center online here is the link
You can also use a "carpet" or "linoleum" knife that you can get at the hardware store for about 5 dollars. You can also do web search for hawkbill knife and you will get lots of options.
