Mexican fan palm wont grow!

hello everybody!
My mexican fan palm is refusing to grow! I planted it about a month ago and i have not seen any growth even when days are 20 celcius (70 fahrenheit). There has been some chilly nights where the temps have gone to -5 celcius (23 fahrenheit) and most of the leaves have been frozen to the point where they became brown and had to be removed but the spear and newest leaf remain a healthy green. When will it start to grow to replace all the missing leaves? Thanks!

Be patient, newly planted washingtonias takes time for them to start pushing out new fronds. The weather has a huge role. Washys love the 80's-90's, that's when then they really take off. Just be patient with it. It will grow.

The soil is probably to cold and those temps(23F)can be fatal to a small Washy.

I think it is in shock and you will (as mentioned) need to wait for some warmer temps,don't start watering it until it warms up permanently.

It seems that the 3 remaining fronds are slowly turning a weird brown green colour and look wilted! This must be normal right? Considering the cold it went through

Yes that's normal. Eventually they will all brown up but new fronds will grow in its place.
