I had to laugh at the title of your post, if you are on this forum you are pretty much already crazy!

Take it easy and watch the claws. You'll be back working in the garden before you know it.

One flew over the Cuckoos nest was the worst movie to ever happen to nurses!!! 32 years of nursing and I have never met anyone like that. It won't be the doctor that saves your life in the middle of the night, it will be the nurse. Please help stop making nurses the evil one.
Sorry about that, it is one of those soap box things for me, I also get freaked out when parents use nurses to threatent their kids...be good or the nurse will give you a shot.

My MIL had a bypass, she was blind, so she strung a closeline from the back door down to the bayou so she could walk. She lost 10 pounds from all that walking.

Glad to see you up and around. I really get a lot of information and great tips from your posts.

I hope you have a very fast recovery cause we are going to miss your pics of plumerias. But taking pictures may be the one thing you can do. Lifting a camera shouldn't go against the doctor's orders :) We may get to see pictures of everyone of your plumerias. I for one would love to see that.

Tally Ho- Fortunately for me I surf and paddle with seven local nurses (says something about nurses) so when I hit the prep room several of them informed the surgery team that they expected the best of their work on me, period. They are the best. They came to visit me in my room and today send texts to check up on me. They kept my wife posted with texts throughout the day. As soon as I can drive, I will take flowers and candy to the prep room. I so appreciate the job they do. And I have to say that my surgeon is very cool and wants to learn to paddle this summer. I am lucky. Although I must confess that nurse Rachett is pretty hot herself. Bill

Tally.. Don't get me wrong, I also am one who has great respect for nurses, they do more than any doctor in my opinion. So I just wanted you to know that it is a inside joke about " Nurse Ratchet" because I have been the caregiver to my hubby ( total knee replacement) and my mother ( shoulder replacement) at the same time. ( Still recouping...) daughter had her heart valve replaced.. So I have had my share.... So my DH labeled me this when I am and still doing my duties taking care of him. If it wasn't for me.. He would be in deep trouble. So we are just teasing, Bill knows what I'm talking about. I appreciate you being a nurse and I value your patience and what you do... So don't think for one second I meant anything by my statements. It's all in fun with my friends...

Bill - just take it easy. Get some of those little light weight duties taken care of that you've put off because you had funner (yes, it is a word, I'm sure) things to do.

I'm glad your surgery went well.

Bill, so glad to hear it went well, and that the team of nurses took such good care of you! It pays to paddle and surf with the best. ;)

I know it'll make you crazy looking around at everything you want to get done in the garden, but it does give you more time to look for inflos, too!

We're all hoping for a speedy recovery for you. You've done a lot for everyone on this forum--it wouldn't be the same around here without you!

I am a believer in healing through strength so I hope, once cleared for physical activity, you find yourself ready willing and able to enjoy your hobbies. Until then...watching the tips sounds OK.

Hi Bill,
So sorry to hear that you had to have another heart surgery. I hope this is it for you. I know what it's like to have to sit around and recover. NOT FUN! I am still not 100% and probably wont be for some time. I am hoping to start P/T soon and get back to living life. Just take it easy and follow the doc's orders!

it`s my soapbox, we get so much bad press. We are portrayed as sex maniacs, idiots, cruel, uncaring, people use us to threaten their children....it`s rough being a nurse, we have the highest injury rate of any profession, the highest atrition rate (15-40% of all male nurses quit in the first year, women hang on a little better)...I tell people I have been a professional wrestler for the past 32 years and if you adjust my salary for inflation I make less than I did the day I graduated. Sad but true. We are an aging profession, the average age of a RN is 48. We are a tough bunch though.

I fence and am thinking of taking up roller derby. No idea how to rollerskate but I didn`t know how to fence eiher. Used to windsurf but I drive a Miata and no way to transport a board, not to mention it floated away in Hurrcane Ike.
