I have a fair number of holes in my backyard, the majority of which I've already identified as crawfish/crawdad holes. However today I noticed holes that looked different. None of the tell-tale pile of mud that crawfish holes have. I thought it might be a mole, but the hole seems too large and I also haven't noticed any tunnels under the sod.

After some research it appears it could, though still not sure, be a vole. Anyone ever had these? Any good tips to get rid of them if so? My only real concern is that they are going to get under my raised garden and eat the roots. I did put down a layer of chicken wire but if memory serves there may be a slight opening between the bottom board and wire.
