Sweet Potatoes Dying?

I have transplanted potatoes to my garden about 3 weeks ago, they started out fine. Over the last few weeks the leaves have turned brown and some have gotten wilted, this is especially only on the one in the picture, but every sweet potato plant has a little bit of the browning on the leaves.
On the attached pic it's also brown towards the base of the stem, but green as you go higher up the stem.
Any enlightening on what this is, or what causes it would be appreciated,
