What's the size? Where was it located when you found it and what was it doing?

Without knowing any details, it looks like what is commonly called a May beetle/June bug.

Only see them at night. They fly around like those big teal colored big beetles we have out here in the day. Size is about 1/2" max. Their exoskeletons are very hard. Location was swarming around my veggie and flower garden with quite a few others.

woohooman, the adult might be harmless; but I would beware of the grub.
