BTW .... just in case you insist on chemicals.. do understand that spiders are NOT insects.. so one would question.. whether an INSECTicide would do much of anything ... so no willy nilly usage.. please...

make sure you use a properly labeled product.. for what you are trying to accomplish ... and use it according to said label ....

Using chemicals is a pointless gesture. You'll still have to clean spiders and webs away from the windows. I guess you've figured out that the spiders build the webs in those locations to catch moths and other insects attracted to the lights. Really, there's not much you can do!

I think that a dry broom would do the job more efficiently than some sort of spray. And there are no spider repellants on the market.

I won't use chemicals - not the store bought ones anyway. I will continue to sweep the critters out along with their prey from their fertile hunting ground. I did make some basil vinegar that is said to repel insects. I sprayed it around a window in my garage to see if it helps. It probably won't but maybe it killed a few germs!

As rhizo said, the spiders and frogs aren't attracted to the light, but the smorgasboard of insects who are. If all else fails, install a room darkening shade on those windows and pull it at night.
