What's wrong with these tomatoes?

I have 4 types of tomatoes growing on pots on our deck: brandywine, cherry, stupice, and san marzano. They were doing great up to July 2, but I returned from a 3 wk business trip to find them all sickly: spindly, few fruits, few leaves, the stupice plants have shrivelled tops. Flowers set fruit, but then shrivel and fall off. Leaves are pale green to yellow, or red-veined. It can't be watering because the same kindly neighbor who watered for me in the past did the same this year.

The brandywine and cherry plants are from seeds bought last year. The others are new seeds. Last year: the growth was lush, and we had abundant fruit -- though the brandywines had some issues with blossom-end rot, the vines were deep green, flowers were health, and fruiting was plentiful). For this year: the pots were cleaned with bleach, and the potting soil is new.

I recently tried watering and spraying the leaves with Miracle Gro tomato food, figuring that until I know what nutrient is deficient (if that's the problem), this might help. On trolling the web, I thought the Stupice symptoms might be potato virus?? But this alone wouldn't explain the spindly growth on all the plants. Also: some (but not all) of the pots had a light sprinkling of well-rotted manture & sphagnum in late june -- could this a cause?

I'd be so grateful for advice that could save this crop!
