They look like some sort of squash bug or beetle. I dont know I would probably get rid of them.

So make that squash bug a squished bug.

Kindof looks like the Hoplia Beetle to me....but would have to see much closer. I smashed those in my fingers as they used to ruin the opening blooms on my 250 rose bushes. roxanne

What about grasshoppers though? Caught quite a few on my first ever eggplant and they totally ruined it but I remember reading on this forum that a member referred to it as a protector. I assumed it ate her aphids. Do you guys get rid of them or let them be?

Grasshoppers are fish bait for me around here. We get some giants. They can tear up leaves in no time. They Dont eat the plumeria though. Just my citrus.

Grasshoppers dont fair well in my yard... I tried to move them to other places In the yard, but they keep coming back to the " fresh salad plumeria bar.."

Those bugs look like the are having a social hour on your tree.. I would turn on the lights and tell them It's time to leave... ;-)

I'm with Laura, one grasshopper or katydid will do a lot of leaf damage very quickly on my plumerias. Probably the blooms, too, if I let them live.

Look like cucumber beetles to me, but it's not a close enough photo to make a good ID.

I would eliminate. They don't look like any beneficials I know of.
