Bill, that looks great. I had a hard time finding that color at Lowes - I need to check some other hardware stores. How long after cutting did you wait before sealing?

They have the cedar tan at Ganahls or if your hardware store carries DAP they can probably order cedar tan. I have sealed as soon as the latex stops flowing and in this case, after a few months. I also use it to seal some of those rots or sunburn marks. here is a sequence:

That's very clever to cover and smooth with plastic, Bill. I have a mystery drill hole, like a woodpecker went after one of my Lutica branches, but it won't get rain in it because of the location. Do they need to be filled? The tip seems to be fine on that branch.

Does it evenually dry hard?

It has a rubbery feel which is good as it stretches as the plant grows. Jen- I fill any holes as it is a place for insects to get started or rot to start. Tongue depressors are perfect for most applications. I use medical latex gloves and tongue depressors to repair surfboards and plumerias. My local nurses hook me up with some supplies.

have you ever looked back after a year or so to see how the joint is healing underneath the DAP? My experience is that if I seal airtight the pith dies and pulls back underneath because it is kept wet by moisture evaporation form the pith.

George, I have wounds I sealed 8-10 years ago and the plants are still growing great. What I like about DAP is it has an antimildew agent in it which I think is important. I have literally hundreds of sealed wounds and have not had any plants rot from those areas. Bill

Thanks for the additional pictures - I'm going to try it out on some of my plants. I had to do a lot of cutting this spring (not by choice), so I have a lot of ugly cuts and other damage that I'd like to cover up/protect.
