bhute dropping peppers

well i bought a bhute plant last month some tim and it is growing pretty good, It is about a foot to a foot and a half tall and has tons of blossoms on it. My problem is once the blosoms fall off about 2-3 days later the entire fruit will fall off with the stem attaching to the plant included. is this normal for at first until it gets hot or is something wrong. I water it about every 3-4 days and thats it. Any help is greatly appreciated ahead of time

    Flower drop probable causes:

    1. Day temp too high >95F
    2. Night temp too low 3. Too much nitrogen fertilizer
    4. Too much water
    5. Low light levels (reduces fertility).
    6. Very low humidity (reduces fertility)
    7. Poor air circulation (air circulation contributes to pollination).
    8. Lack of pollinating insects.
    9. Size of pot

    1. Too much mineral in feedwater.
    2. Too much grower attention.

    ThatÂs an excellent list!

IÂm having the same problem with my Rocoto plants, IÂm losing about 9 out of every 10 blossoms, I didnÂt know what was happening but now I get the picture. Still, I have some rocoto fruits in different sizes being the oldest about six weeks and most of them less than two, I guess the warmer the weather gets the more chances to the blossoms to avoid the fall. In my experience (very little indeed!) IÂve found that, at least with the rocoto, if the fall doesnÂt occur in the two or three day period following the petals fall the little buds will stay and grow into a fruit.

hah...good ol willard...still copy n pastin that list this year eh?
    it is a good list.

as far as the bhut goes....i wouldnt worry too much....they are very picky....and it is very early in the season still....especially for bhuts.
If its already trying to set pods youre already ahead of the curve.

just let it do its thing.....its not really abnormal for bhuts.
in time....theyll start setting and staying.
    no worries.

Willard's list is still the best because those are the reasons flowers drop off! That won't change, if you are doing something wrong it's covered by Willard's list. That is why it shows up a lot, listen to the man who knows. Learn from his experience.

while the list holds true it is not all the helpful to a new grower. It is hard to tell which one of those problems you have. #1 and #2 have set parameters while all the rest are some what non-descript.

How much is too much or too little water? What should my pot size be? Is one home fan enough air flow?what is too little light? What should my humidity be at...and how can I test it?

So while copying and pasting that list may be true to why...It is still up to the grower to diagnose and interpret the list to figure out what the true problem is. This can be difficult as the only real symptom is flowers dropping.

If it were possible to give exact answers to how much water and etc, you wouldn't have a plant.

Part of the problem with growing chiles is that new growers expect exact answers......there aren't any.

thank you for all the help guys. I had a feeling it might not be hot enough for them to stay now because they are a high temperate plant. its slowly trying to warm up here in virginia beach. i still dont know what zone im in according to numbers but i never really bothered with that. i have never had this problem with other plants in the past but this is my first bhute plant. hopefully it will start setting and staying soon.
