So Cal plumeria nursery?

Okay so I'm going to be going to San diego in a couple months, and I'd like to pick up a new plumeria or two. My question is where in that area is a good place to look. I do have some jungle jacks plumeria's isn't their nursery somewhere down there and of so is it open to the public? Any other places would've great as well. Thanks

I highly recommend Jungle Jack's. It's a plumeria addict's dream! Most of my plumerias are from Jungle Jack's. I have been there twice already since April and I'm going again tomorrow. :)

Jon's plants are healthy, happy and just beautiful. The best part is his prices are very fair and he's a very patient man. Some folks here like Upland Nursery... but I did not have a good experience with them. To me their high prices (I paid $99 for a 2 gal plant vs JJ's 5 Gal for half the price) lack of service and the fact that their plants are grafted... means I won't be buying from them in the future.

Also Encinitas and Irvine Home Depot carry JJ's plumerias as well. But since I'm so close to JJ's I just go straight there to get the varieties that I cannot find at HD. Prices are comparable anyway so might as well. My last trip to JJ's I found a NOID which turned out to be Tiger from Thailand. And she's a beauty! So this time I'm going to hunt for a Red flower plant! :) Good luck and have fun if you do go!

Hi Trevor,

I also enjoy JJ's and also recommend Mike at Pacific Plumeria which is in Solana Beach- much closer to things than Visa. I included a link from here of which many people suggest and give info for CA visits.

Thanks for the replies. I will check those out, especially jungle jacks. A local nursery here sells jungle jacks plumeria every year but usually has the same varieties every year, inca gold, cal sunset. Nothing against those I have them I just want a variety. Years ago I got two medium plants at a nursery in LA but had to get rid of them a couple years ago when I moved. My collection of plants had dwindled, but now I have a new home large yard and a greenhouse, so my wife says I can increase my collection :)
Ive got a lot of good tips from reading this forum and hope I can contribute as well.

Jungle Jack will have an Open house on 7/7 to introduce some new varieties. Good chance to see the new blooms!
