august is a time of leaf weirdness .... the heat.. hail.. drought.. etc ...

many things are possible.. not all of them require reaction on your part ... especially late in the season ...

if i understand NB canada properly .. you are north of maine ... crikey.. wont it start snowing in a few weeks??? ... lol ... unless you are in some temperate maritime pattern i am not aware of ...

so .. lets see a pic of the whole.. before we make suggestions on fixing such ...

as far as melons... i never had much luck with such down here in MIchigan ..... there were simply not enough warm days in a summer.. for a crop that can take a very long time to mature ... so as a newb.. you need to figure out.. if it can make it from germination to fruition.. in your given season ... i came to the conclusion.. it wasnt worth the space it took up ...

again.. perhaps your climate is different than i am imagining ... i dont have time to look such up.. maybe my theory is all wind ..

Yes i am north of maine but other then rain we should have nice warm weather here til sept or oct. I have 4 plants growing 1 is doing amazing another is doing pretty well and 1 (the picture I already posted) only has a few effected leaves and but was doing great before and the my last plant isnt doing so hot.. picture posted.... I know for sure next what I will and will not be doing now lets hope I can find the best spot in my yard for it next year lol
