They will grab seeds and seedlings and drag them deep into their tunnels, eventually feeding on them. If you have an abundance of earthworms in a limited spot, they can be destructive.

There are other possibilities, too, but those sneaky worms get off scot free after a night of 'rearranging ' a garden!

one thing for sure.. they would NEVER let worms get away ... lol .. not that i spend any time over there.. i just recall they do heavily screen the byproduct.. not to lose their faithful composters ....

Vermicomposting

Earthworms do eat any organic matter they find in soils, and seeds are organic matter. However, even with many more then 10 worms per square foot in my planting beds
I never had a problem with those earthworms eating them to the point I had very few germinate. Voles, birds, and other such critters maybe, but not the earthworms.

Look at night for sow bugs, they will climb up young seedlings and eat the tops, sometimes the entire seedling just when it sprouts. If you don't see any, push the dirt around with your finger and see if you spot some, but they will quickly roll up into a ball so also look for little grey balls.
