My dracaena grew 2 feet this summer, now measuring 8 feet...by far my fastest growing palm-like evergreen, including my palms. Not sure how I'll have to protect it by the end of next summer.

Nice draecena, how have you protected in the past and how long has it been in the ground? Sago will be fine, it's in a pot. I'm trying one outdoors this year, that will probably not turn out fine.

Thanks. It's been in the ground for 4 summers now, going on it's 3rd winter.

I wrap a strand of rope lights around it and cover with a lattice structure with a giant plastic bag over to keep it dry. Same method I protect my trachys with, but they don't grow nearly as fast.

I had the lower half of leaves trimmed off this spring to show off 3 feet of clear trunk, but it regrew so many new leaves.
