Georgia or Greece? The celadine does well on almost any good plant fertilizer. It is not a lanky grower so it can take more nitrogen than most. I would say just by a good quality flower fertilizer from an even mix like 20-20-20 or any with equal numbers to a bloom which has a higher middle number. I do not recommend Miracle grow because of the acids that hurt the long range soil- it is better for annuals where you change the soil each year. Just follow the directions and do not over salt. If it says 7-10 days do 10 days- stay on the long side. Once or twice a season, let a hose run slowly so it does not overflow your pot for several minutes. Wait a few minutes and repeat so you absorb any accumulated salts and then flush them from your soil. Celadines like to be much drier than many others so sometimes let them dry out considerably. Drying phases often cause the plant to flower as it is common to make flowers into the dry season. Little dry periods can fool the plant into blooming. Bill

In his book, Growing Plumerias in Hawaii, Jim Little writes, "Contrary to popular belief, a higher nitrogen fertilizer is preferable to a phosphorous fertilizer in inducing first flowers. New studies show that young plants do not need so much phosphate. Phosphate is recommended for mature plants that have established roots."

That is interesting. Guess I should get a more balanced fertiliser for my little seedlings. Do you think 20-20-20 is good?

Joe- Jim Little, having one of the best farms in Hawaii, sometimes is not the authority. His comments on grafting in that book (which is excellent) are filled with errors. His comments here are I believed based on a study by the University of Hawaii for the lei growers and was done exclusively on Celadines. Jack Morgan of Kimi's does do considerable testing and he prefers lower phosphates, even for mature palants. What is really needed is a true study of various colors and growth rates so we can have some true data. What we do have is considerable opinion (like my own) based on very little real scientific evidence. We follow the pipers (Thorntons, Eggenbergers, Bunch, Morgan, Little, etc. and a litany of amateurs) and hopefully don"t end up in the sea. Bill

I use Roberta's Hawaiian Flower Magic (9-18-9) on my Plumerias, Pineapples, Aloe, and Coconut Palm.; just add a few drops to your watering can.
I purchase this from a Plumeria vendor at the Los Angeles County Fair, but if you can't find it in your area, a link is below.

thank you all for your true concern! :)

speaking as an amateur i do hope I'll have the opportunity of reading many books on plumerias while hearing(reading!) many considerable opinions thought you never know about the pipers..

so i bought a 20-20-20 (thank you bill)(thank you josegabriele) going to try it and let you know!
    (and it's Greece actually)(why asking?)!
