I have much more trouble with squirrels that pull up the orchids , raccoon that likes to swim in the pond and blue jays that plant sunflowers in the pots lol One thing I've found for pots is putting 1/2/1 inch lava rock on top . Stops digging but doesn't stop them from pulling them up!!lol Would think it would work well for a cat?? gary

If I have a really large pot that has some sort of tree or shrub in it. I put smaller terracotta pots turned upside down in the pot around the tree. I will usually put some other smaller potted plants wedged in there as well.
Cats don't seem to like some of the herbs like basil or oregano so I sometimes put those in the small wedged-in pots. Mint works too. Just don't use catnip lol.
I have also put wire fencing around the outside of the pot going into a tepee kinda shape so the stray cats can't get in there.

Easy solution! Get rid of the cat and get a dog ;)
