Ft. Bend PSA Sale on Saturday

OK, so I'm gonna go, and get there EARLY. Learned not to lag after getting to the Clear Lake sale last month. Janedy are you going? I'd love to meet some of y'all in person :)

On my Get-It List is a TLD and Raspberry Sundae, after spotting those while waiting in line to pay at the first PSA sale. Maybe also Kaneohe Sunburst

Here is there list:

http://www.theplumeriasociety.org/cnt/files/%5C/PSA_variety_%20FtBend_July%202012.pdf

What would be on y'alls Get-It List from there? Most I don't know, so I will be going through that list thoroughly to see what's of interest, but I'd love to hear everyone's opinions :)

you had to post the list didn't you? LOL! I guess I have to call in sick on Saturday, or go in really late....
Have fun. I wish I could call in and go. I think I just drooled on the keyboard.

What you only have two on your list Ivysmom? I have two a day! LOL...

In fact I just bought two at BBB's today but I'm not ready to confess yet! :(

Have fun at the PSA Sale! I hope you will find all on your Get it list.

    ivysmom,

I will be there. I will be one of the people helping with checkout (swiping the credit cards) so be sure to say hi!

One on the list that the PSA members have said is a great one is Musk Rainbow. If I hadn't ordered one from Florida Colors, I would be getting one of those.

Have to go home tonight and check the list to see what I can't live without :)

Hope to see a lot of you there.

Yay, joanr -- I'll ask which one is you :) AND... glad to hear CCs will be taken. Rather do that than guesstimate how much cash to bring with. That frees things up a bit, LOL! I'll have my 4YO in tow.

Musk Rainbow, got it. Safe to assume from the name it's a good-smelling one?

Ivy, that's an even longer list than the Seabrook sale's! There are a bunch of names I've never heard of, too.

I won't be able to go--I would have to have MY 4YO in tow if I did--but you're going to love it if you're one of the first in the door. Run, don't walk, to the vendors who have what you want b/c Raspberry and TLD are popular. Give Joan a hug from me.

Just a thought, too, Ivy: Barbra (honeybunny2) contacted Emerson Willis directly and found that he has a lot of much bigger plants available for sale at his place in La Porte, if you don't mind picking up. His sale plants are smaller, generally all in 1-gallon pots. As someone who keeps (not so) patiently waiting for my dang plants to grow to blooming size, I would gladly pay double or triple or more to get fewer, bigger plants. Just sayin'.

I can't see the list everytime I copy and paste it only shows the plumeria forum thread. What am I doing wrong? I am going to get the Raspberry Sundae, and the Wild fire, so I can mail mine to No-Clue. I am keeping my blinders on. I will only buy what is on my list, I hope. I am still waiting for Nancy to call me back on the other Wildfire. If
it is also too big, there is no sense of me going. I can probably just pick up the Raspberry Sundae at the Corpus Sale on the 21st. No-Clue if I do not go to this sale, I will be looking for the Wild Fire in Corpus at their PSA Sale. Does anyone know if Andrew got his Bill Morange? I would hate to buy it and find out he already bought one. Barbra

I did a search and found the list, Emmerson must be table O, its the only one that has Wildfire. I need to go to table I or K to get the Raspberry Sundae. Nancy said they opened at 9am, but I read the PSA notice and it said 9:30, it like Corpus, they swap between each other before the doors open to us. Barbra

Wish I could make the 5 hour drive from the DFW area.
I sure want a Raspberry Sundae. I received several from Emerson last week, including TLD, Raspberry, & Maverick.
Guess I'll just play golf and dream of plummies.
Can you find out which vendors are selling the Raspberry Sundae and share contact info?

Thank you in advance for the info.

    Y'all, I'm getting excited :)

I think I'll wear my green "Wakonda, SD" shirt -- probably won't be any of those there.

    last modified: 10 years ago

I will be wearing feathers in my hair. Look for an old lady wearing beige pants, with beige and blue striped top, who will be wearing beige and blue feathers in her hair. I am not going to take a chance of not getting to meet anyone. I saw the last PSA sale pictures and people were standing right next to each other and did not even know it. The old lady in the feathers will be me, so be sure and stop and say hi! Barbra

I should be easy to find too...I will be the guy without feathers or a Wakonda T-shirt. :)

But I will have a blue Dallas Cowboys Visor, a big smile, and a bunch of plants in each hand.

Watch out ya`ll everything is flooded in our area, the rain is SUPPOSED to slow tonight but increase tomorrow. You might want to take your clogs or rain boots.
Have fun and I will be the one not there but pouting in front of my computer at work.

K I can just see you now. At least I know who you are, the visor will be your feathers.

Tally I have been watching the weather on channel 362, and it looks like it has been raining in Rosenberg for the past 3 days. I was wondering if it was flooding down there. I see that Houston is flooding, but it always floods. I have not heard of any other area. Keeping my fingers crossed. Barbra

Just north of Rosenberg has been the hardest hit. Some areas in that region have had almost 15" of rain and more expected tomorrow. Supposed to be clearer in am, then more rain in afternoon. Just expect to get muddy and wet.

Yay, that was fun!! I'll answer some questions and then post some pix. First, I got to meet Joan and Barbra -- lovely laides both. Barbra, sorry I beat you to the Raspberry Sundae (well, not SORRY, but you know what I mean ;) Sorry I didn't come back in after taking the plants to the car. Ivy had reached her limit of "not doing what I want to do", so I strapped her to the hood of the car an went home... I mean, I put her in the carseat and we headed back into town :)

Lonnie: Two sellers had Raspberry Sundae: German Collazos and David Holloway (who had lots of other unregistered Thai-sounding named plants... interesting collection!)

Emerson's table had the most bloomers. I got a Celadine from him, but no inflo (none of mine had inflos, but all were multi-tipped and VERY healthy looking... pix later).

The drive down 59 was totally without incident. No flooding at all, wide-open 6 lanes with almost no traffice. We arrived around 9am, and were behind a dozen or so folks. The line grew quickly afterwards.

I went in looking to get a Raspberry Sundae and TLD. I went through the entire list last night, and added a few to the list to look for as well, and got all but one. In addition to the RS and TLD, I got a Bill Moragne and Celadine. Wanted a Saigon Moon, but Emerson's sold out fast, and the other seller decided hers didn't look healthy enough, so opted not to bring them. I let Ivy pick a cutting out instead, and she got a nice one-tip Charlotte Ebert ("I want a pink one!!") and also a Mardi Gras seedling. I think I'm done buying for the season. Photos to follow...

Glad to hear the roads were nice and dry, it rained again this am, sounded like they were pounding the windows with a fire hose.
    Congrats on the scores.

    Can't wait for pics.

OK, as I said earlier, no inflos on my purchases, so no blooms to show off... and Ivy wasn't cooperating enough for me to return after purchases and take pix. Hopefully some of the other GW folks there can share pix. Not as large as the Seabrook sale, but more variety and the plants looked bigger and happier (given the recent rains, that's no surprise). Here are the photos I DID snap:

Arrived around 9am, a dozen or so folks ahead of us. The line grew quickly after that. We got a cart this time, yay!

The bloom table (that is Ivy at the back)

My big boys. L-R: Raspberry Sundae, Bill Moragne, Thornton's Lemon Drop, Celadine:

Close-up of the TLD. Looks like this will have 4 tips :)

Close-up of RS. Two obvious branches growing out and you can see where 3 cuttings were taken. Will those branch out again? Regardless, happy-looking tree!

The Celadine. On the right-hand branch, is that a new tip forming below the main group of leaves? I hope so :)

The two little guys (which my little gal picked out). A Mardi Gras seedling and Charlotte Ebert cutting:

That's what I got! Hopefully next year (or this? no idea if it's too late for that to happen this year) there will be inflos galore and lots of blooms to show off :) Wish the rest of y'all could have gone (well, except for the competition of resources... glad there weren't MORE people there eyeballing the same plants as me :)

ivysmom, what a great score !!! Wish we had them close enough to go to on the east coast. You guys are sooooo lucky. But then again it is harder on the pocket books. Ivy is a real cutie and so good to be good while your on a mission. You can see she's all girl looking at those blooms. She'll grow up with a love of plumerias too I'm sure. Good that the weather and traffic cooperated too. Congrats on your new babies. Peg

I wanted to let every know what I bought home beside my Wildfire. I also bought a penang peach 14 inches tall, with 3 tiny tips, and a Bill Moragne, 20 inches 1 tip, both are 1 inch thick. K bought 4 plants, all I remember is that his California Sally, was as thick as a log. He got some really nice plants to add to his collection. We got to meet Nancy and Emerson, and Tex. We got to visit with Joan, who introduced me to Ivysmom. I got to meet everyone that I wanted to, and I don't think I even needed those feathers. It was a great day. Barbra
