Hi. My first tries at rooting and I have a question. I put my cut stems (fuchsia) into a medium of 50:50 perlite/vermiculite and have been giving it bottom heat. After 16 days 3/4 of them have 1/4" to 3/8" rootlets. How long should these roots get before I remove the twigs and transplant them into a pot with potting mix? I don't want to move them too soon, but if there is an optimum time to get them going well in a 'real' pot.... Or, can I just start adding a little liquid fertilizer to the 50:50 blend and let them get big enough to transplant right out into the garden come spring?
