What are you feeding it? Also, did you water and feed it while it was inside during the winter? It's August, it's possible in your area they it could be going dormant early since it never went into dormancy last winter. I'm sure others will chime in. It's hard to determine exactly why it's doing this if you are still watering and feeding it.

thanks powderpuff..yes I did continue to water it,,however we did change fertilizer and I just read that it needs a fertilizer high in Phos... contrary to what we have been using this summer...so I got some miracle grow bloom buster w/ 16% phos to start using..hopefully that makes a difference.But it actually did not go dormant this winter...so if it continues dropping leaves...should I let it go dormant now?

Husker, September seems a little early for bringing it in, but I don't know when you all in Nebraska see your first frost.

Sometimes they drop their older leaves in late summer so they can add on new leaves at the tips. And some varieties are later bloomers than others, putting out flowers over fall and winter. Hard to say if that's the case with yours.

Often after they bloom, they branch, and those new branches may need a year to just grow to the maturity to then bloom themselves. We can encourage a bigger flush of blooms in these, but we can't make them bloom before they're ready, regardless of the fertilizer.

Just give the plumeria as much sun and heat as you can for as long as possible. A healthy plumie will bloom when it's ready. Good luck!
