the pictures show a good technique..... but be sure to remove cover several times a day....or you will invite fungal infections.....

What color is the lilac? I have a white lilac bush that I'm getting ready to cut down because it was here when I moved in 5 yrs. ago and I hate white lilacs..they are not pretty nor do they have the fragrance that the purple ones have. My elderly neighbor behind me has a beautiful rose/purple color one and I was wondering what kind of medium you started them in? The white lilac bush/tree is as tall as the white dogwood and is planted too close to it. Might be hard to try to dig up because it probably has been there about 25 yrs. maybe longer. I figure if I cut the white lilac down, it will give the dogwood tree more room and light to grow. Both were planted by original owners.

I don't know what kind they are but one is a medium purple and the other is a dark purple. I already own a light lavender one. I took the cutting from A median of a busy street at rush hour. I has been drooling over them for weeks and finally got the courage to brave the traffic!
