the odds.. IMHO.. of you rooting a whole branch.. are low to nil unless you have vast propagation experience.. a greenhouse.. a misting system.. and a bunch of other things..

i highly doubt.. you will stick a rather large piece in the ground.. and have a new large plant next year..

that is.. unless these things root like poplar, willow and forsythia ... and then.. never mind.. lol ..

softwood is the more recent.. this seasons growth ...
